'Take a friend fishing'
21st July to 31st August
What is it?
It does exactly what it says on the tin!!!!!
We want all anglers across the country to share your love of the sport by taking somebody you know fishing for the day.
Choose your friend or companion carefully, and who knows you may have a new fishing pal for life.
In todays society their are many people who just have not had the opportunity to go fishing. With the number of families who live apart these days, often that natural bonding between dad and son is lost, and the son doesn't get to try angling out.
Mum's are often at a loss to know how to keep the kids gainfully occupied during the school holidays, so introducing youngs boys and girls to fishing could be just the remedy, for many a relaxing day down by the river and you never know, Mum may find out, she too enjoys it .

Over the last years the numbers of disabled people introduced to the sport has risen dramatically and brought great happiness and enjoyment from their new found skills.
Facilities are such these days that fishing is open to just about anyone who may wish to try.
So with a day rod licence costing less than a packet of cigarettes, angling is one of the most affordable pastimes around and you could make such a difference to somebodies life.
Think back to the first day you went, who took you, where did you go, what did you catch and more over why did you go back for more?

Answer a few of those questions and it may assist you in deciding on who you take, where and when you go and what fish you are going to try and catch?
Finally, because 'Take a friend fishing' is about sharing, then comeback to this website, and tell us all about your day on the newspage!
Dont forget the camera, and be honest about the size of your catch!
